NHWL Engineering was incorporated in March of 1991. The primary focus of our firm is to provide detail design engineering services to industrial clients. Our business has grown from providing services to clients within our immediate geographical area to providing services across North America, Asia and South America.
About NHWL Engineering
Focus on Improvement & Competitiveness
We have concentrated on positioning our firm to be able to effectively compete on large projects and remain competitive on small maintenance type projects. We believe our continued success as a company is being able to balance obtaining large project work and maintaining client contact and service through the implementation of smaller projects.
A major part of our success has been our use of PDMS 3D software coupled with the continued development of programming to streamline PDMS and the strong work ethic of our personnel. We have been a PDMS user since 1994 and have steadily invested in developing programs to make the PDMS easier and quicker to use.
This investment in programming and the skill of our designers allows us perform projects with smaller amount of staff than our competitors and has enabled us to compete anywhere in the world. The same software development tools we invested in to make us effective on large jobs are routinely used on all projects, large and small.
Design Team with Construction Background
NHWL’s designs incorporate previous project experience as well as our design team’s background in construction. NHWL has been the design engineer/general contractor on several lump-sum turnkey projects.
Over half of our staff of designers were previously welders, pipe fitters and electricians. Our approach to hiring designers has been to look for the craftsmen that are the trouble-shooters on the job then teach them how to draft and use CAD.
We have learned that it is much easier for a craftsman to learn CAD versus a CAD trainee learning industrial construction. The end result is our design team is experienced with the problems facing construction and we draw on our background to provide constructable designs.
Commitment to Staff and Client Relations
One of our goals, as a company, is to provide our staff with steady, loyal employment and in return offer to our clients a team of people who are experienced in industrial work and who have consistently worked together. Hiring and firing per project has become common place in engineering today and we strive to be different.
Our business is based upon receiving the repeat business of our clients. We do not employ a sales staff to constantly look for new business but rather focus on earning the repeat business and referrals of our clients.
NHWL’s goal is to provide quality engineering services with a personalized touch that will satisfy our client’s needs and establish a long term working relationship.
